"Creativity in a corporate environment needs to be channelled to produce great products. An optimal level of creativity can be achieved within the organization as a whole, where the appropriate guidelines and frameworks are in place for creative individuals and their ideas, and to convert such creativity into viable business solutions... A defined structure that sets boundaries, such as market needs, financial constraints, resource availability, project checklist and milestones, etc. can drive measurable, sustainable and innovative results." |

It is creativity that turns our propositions into engaging communication - especially when they are communicated using visual media (television, poster advertising, websites, printed literature). But creativity is an inherently unpredictable process and it requires careful management. |

Yes, but doesn't too much structure stifle creativity?
I think that too much formality and procedure can limit creativity. Being told what is required is different from being told how it is required.
For instance, tell me that my creative should consider my target audience, the call to action, competitive intensity, but not that it MUST be done by sitting in a furniture-less room with like minds discussing in a civilized manner the meaning of the word 'fire'.
Systems and guidelines on how one should go about the creative process are antithetical to creativity itself. |
