Scotiabank returned to the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Montego Bay, January 25-27, with the GetCaught Media crafted Scotiabank Blues Café. The booth catered specially to VIP customers and other celebrity guests who visited the festival.
Jamaica’s largest commercial bank partnered with the Blue Beat Martini and Jazz Bar based in Montego Bay to put the on-site hot spot together. The space featured themed decor, as well as the Blue Beat specialty bartenders and live performances each night of the festival.
Explaining the café concept, Heather Shields, vice-president of Marketing at Scotiabank, said, "The Jazz and Blues Festival is a captivating celebration of music, culture and the arts. The Blue Beat collaboration offers a fabulous opportunity for us to entertain our customers, and a great space as they mingle and talk with us and other guest celebrities."
Scotiabank’s signature red along with blue tones on silk fabric and vinyl banners
featuring images of jazz musicians, dominated the backdrop for the bank’s return to the popular festival after a 9-year hiatus. The décor was also complemented by artwork by one of Jamaica’s premier artists, Phillip Supersad.
The entertainment package included conscious songbird Etana, multi-talented Kathy Brown and Friends and pop-reggae heartthrob, Cezar performing under intelligent lighting inside the cozy café. With the Scotia “bouncers” guarding the entrance, only the who’s who among the patrons of the festival managed to make it inside to sample the popular chocolate martini.
At the end of the Festival, Scotiabank’s return was heralded as the “comeback of the year” (no pun intended). |
